GEPG seminar on 12 July, 2011

The AIT-GEPG Seminar on “Assessment of Petroleum Resources in Place: Uncertainties and Difficulties; Strategic issues in Oil & Gas Upstream Business” was successfully conducted on 12th July, 2011. It was jointly organized by AIT and VPI, from which the speakers shared valuable experiences in the Oil & Gas upstream business. Dr. Pham Huy Giao, Associate Professor at AIT, delivered a speech about “Assessment of Petroleum Resources in Place: Uncertainties and Difficulties”. Deputy General Director of VPI, Dr. Nguyen Hong Minh, had a talk on “Strategic issues in Oil & Gas Upstream Business”. The seminar came up with the need of training and development for human resources in the Oil & Gas Industry, where a considerable return is expected. Dr. Pham Huy Giao, GEPG Program Coordinator, gave an introduction about the Professional Master Program of Engineering in Geoexploration and Petroleum Geoengineering (PME-GEPG) Intake 2011-2012. It is an application-oriented program that is specially tailored for Oil & Gas employees who can take courses in Vietnam while getting an international degree at AIT Thailand. The seminar is a specialised one with attenders specifically from such Oil & Gas companies as VPI, PVEP, Noex, JVPC, VRJ JOC, Thang Long JOC, Lam Son JOC, Con Son JOC. Good feedback has been reported, which facilitates more seminars in the upcoming time.
